Poppy Bullen

After Recently graduating Bournemouth University with a Multimedia Journalism degree I am now trying a hand in the world of freelance.

With a love for music and fascination of club culture I try to experience parties around the UK and across europe from Bristol to Manchester, Ibiza, to Berlin. I am also festival obsessed, Glastonbury Block 9 being my happy place.

I love to discover new sounds and happy with partying to most genres, however my love for techno will always surpass. I’ve been privileged enough to experience many of my favorite DJ’s, Ben UFO, The Black Madonna and Ricardo Villalobos, to name a mere few.

Whilst at uni I tried to coordinate my love of music and passion for charitable causes and was involved with throwing a couple of our own Rave for Refugee charity events with Student Action for Refugees Bournemouth.

I have had a few music journalism jobs here and there with Watch the Hype and experience at Mixmag. When it comes to DJing I have had my dabble on the decks but still establishing my own spinning skills. I did try out some student radio back in first year, playing the likes of Barnt Chappell to clear the student union building at 9pm on a Wednesday night. Not quite the average soundtrack for a Cameo pre drinks… …

My interest in journalism comes from my love for documenting where I’ve been and the experiences I’ve had, whether thats through pictures, films or words – and I hope to continue sharing my upcoming parties with the lo key crew!

Also, a proud feminist fighting for justice through the world of dance music, but that goes without saying, obvs X
